About Marie
Coach. Mentor. Supervisor. Educator. Author. Lifelong learner.
Professional Life
I’ve spent almost 30 years working with people around the world. Supporting them to engage in their lives and work in courageous, compassionate, and transformational ways using all their senses.
While my working life began in advertising it quickly moved into teaching and mentoring in education. When I had my children, I moved into private practice working with people in pain. As my children grew, I gathered my experiences and expanded my learning in programmes to develop my own understanding of myself.
Coaching is where I found my professional home. Partnering with leaders and executives around the globe. I still love the real work of coaching, working with human beings who want to know themselves more.
Much of my professional life now has become devoted to supporting the development of coaches. I educate, supervise, mentor coaches across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and North America — from those beginning their journey to highly experienced practitioners seeking greater depth, confidence, and authenticity in their work.
My approach to coaching has always been deeply relational. While I value models, theory, and professional standards, I am equally interested in what happens beyond technique, in the human connection between people, in the courage to speak honestly, and in the capacity for coaching conversations to genuinely transform how we see ourselves and others.
Alongside my private coaching and coach education work, I tutor on the University of Cambridge coaching certificate programme and regularly facilitate workshops, supervision groups, and leadership programmes internationally. I am also co-host of the Empower World Coaching and Leadership Podcast, where we explore diverse perspectives and emerging conversations within coaching, leadership, and human development.
I am passionate about creativity in coaching, reflective practice, supervision, and helping coaches develop the confidence to trust themselves more fully within their work. Increasingly, my work explores the balance between courage and compassion, what I describe as a fiercely loving approach to coaching.
Coaching is where I found my professional home.
Personal Life
I was born in England to Irish parents. The place I spent many happy years and where I call my spiritual home is Killowen, Co Down, located on the shores of Carlingford Lough in Northern Ireland. You can see the magnificent view I grew up with in the photo on this page.
I was surrounded by strong family roots, storytelling, humour, and resilience. Life taught me early that people can carry both great love and great pain at the same time. Those experiences shaped my fascination with human behaviour, emotional courage, and the complexity of relationships.
Like many people drawn to this profession, my own life has included moments of challenge, heartbreak, growth, reinvention, and self-discovery. Coaching became not simply a career, but a way of understanding people more deeply, including myself.
Over the years, I have learned that true growth rarely comes from perfection or performance. More often, it emerges through honesty, reflection, vulnerability, and a willingness to stay present in the uncomfortable spaces of life.
Outside of work, I find joy in meaningful conversation, creativity, nature, travel, learning, and spending time with the people I love. I am endlessly inspired by stories, the stories we inherit, the stories we live, and the stories we choose to rewrite.
At the heart of everything I do is a belief that coaching is not simply about supporting people perform better. It is about enabling people to come home to themselves with greater courage, compassion, and truth.
Throughout this website I have added numerous images from special moments in my life, moments of joy and moments of growth. From hot air baloons to sailing boats, from mountains to palm trees. They represent my values, my purpose and my journey to date. Each one of these pictures has a story behind it and has added to the defining moments of my later years.
I encourage you to go find moments of your life, in pictures, objects, memories and metaphors and invite them to tell your story… perhaps they will paint a rich picture of who you are now, and maybe even who you are becoming.
Fierce Love
My first book, Fierce Love: Essential Lessons to Coach with Courage, Compassion and Connection (The Right Book Company, 2026), explores these themes through my personal stories, professional reflections, practical lessons, and case studies from my years of coaching practice.
